WEBSITE TERMS
Terms of Service
These terms apply to the Audi Outcasts website: the public pages, the membership application form, the member-only pages and the club's event registration. They are written in plain language and are meant to be read as they are.
Last updated: 14 September 2026
1. Acceptance of these terms
By using this website you agree to these terms. If you sign in as a member, or apply for membership, you also agree to them on behalf of the person whose details you are entering. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the website.
These terms cover the website only. Club membership itself, and how members are expected to behave at club gatherings and on the road, are governed by the Audi Outcasts club rules you accept when you join.
2. The website and what it is for
The public part of this site tells you about the club and its rally countdown, and lets someone apply for membership. Everything else — the members' car directory, club events and the club's member records — is reserved for active members or for the club's authorised administrators.
Membership applications are reviewed by administrators. Submitting the form is an application, not a membership: the club decides who joins, and it does not have to give reasons.
3. Member sign-in and your session
Member-only pages are opened with a one-time code sent to the cellphone number the club has on record for you (or, where the club has set it up that way, to the email address on your record). There is no password. If the number or address on your record is out of date, an administrator has to change it before you can sign in.
You are responsible for what happens on your session. Please do not share a one-time code with anyone, do not let someone else sign in as you, and sign out when you are finished on a device that is not yours. If you think someone else has access, tell an administrator so your session can be ended.
A session lasts a few hours and then expires. Signing in on another device ends the earlier session. The club may end any session at any time where that is reasonably necessary to protect the club, its members or the website.
4. Acceptable use
When using this website, you must not:
- Try to get around the sign-in, the rate limits or any other access control, or try to reach an area you are not authorised to use.
- Sign in as, or attempt to sign in as, another member.
- Scrape, bulk-download, copy or republish member information or car photographs, whether by hand or with a script.
- Share member information or car photographs outside the club, or use them for marketing, sales prospecting, harassment or any commercial purpose.
- Submit false information, someone else's details without their agreement, or content you do not have the right to supply.
- Upload malicious files or attempt to interfere with the website, its database, its file storage, its email or its sign-in.
- Use the website for anything unlawful.
Breaking this clause may cost you access to member-only pages, and may be treated as a club membership matter as well.
5. Members' Cars
The members' car directory is a private, members-only feature. For each active member it shows a name, a nickname, the Audi and a photograph of the car, and its search box looks at the Audi model and year only.
It is read-only. Members cannot edit their own entry or anyone else's through it, and there is no upload, change or delete option in it — corrections, photographs and removals are handled by administrators. If your entry is wrong, or you want your car taken out of the directory, ask an administrator.
What you see in the directory is shared with you in confidence as a fellow member. Being able to see it does not give you permission to save, forward, post or reuse another member's name, nickname or car photograph outside the club.
6. Club events
Active members can see the club's current events on the members' events page and register for them. Event details — the date, time, venue, cost, payment reference and banking details — are set by the club and are published with the event. Where a confirmation email is sent, it repeats those details.
Registering records that you intend to attend. It is not a paid ticket: if an event needs payment, your place is confirmed according to the arrangements the club communicates for that event, and the club's own arrangements decide questions of payment, cancellation or refunds. Event details may change, and an event may be postponed or cancelled, for reasons including weather, venue problems and safety. The club will tell registered members as soon as it reasonably can.
Attending a club drive, meet or rally is at your own risk. You remain responsible for your own vehicle, licensing, insurance, roadworthiness and for obeying South African road traffic law.
7. Information you give the club
Please keep the details on your member record accurate, and tell an administrator when your cellphone number or email address changes — your sign-in depends on them.
By supplying a photograph of your car, you confirm you are entitled to supply it, and you agree that the club may store it in its member records, keep an archive copy in the club's own Google Drive storage, and show it to signed-in active members in the members' car directory. You can ask for that photograph to be removed at any time.
How the club handles your information is set out in the Audi Outcasts Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
8. Administrators and moderation
Audi Outcasts administrators manage the club's records through a separate, sign-in protected admin area. They may correct member details, manage membership numbers, add or remove car photographs, create and manage events, approve or decline applications, and make a membership active or inactive.
If a membership is made inactive, access to member-only pages ends on the next request, and the member's car is no longer shown in the members' car directory. The club may also remove content or restrict access where that is reasonably necessary to protect members, enforce these terms or comply with the law.
9. Third-party services
The website runs on services the club does not own: Netlify for hosting, server functions, database and file storage; Google Drive for the club's photo archive; Resend for email; and, where configured, Twilio for one-time codes. Those services have their own terms, and an outage or change at one of them can affect parts of this website. The club will not be responsible for a third-party failure it could not reasonably have prevented.
10. Availability and changes
This is a volunteer-run club website, provided free of charge and on an "as is" and "as available" basis. It may be unavailable during maintenance, deployments, outages or faults, and the club does not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Features may be added, changed, restricted or removed, and these terms may be updated when the website or the club's arrangements change. The current version is the one on this page, with the date at the top; continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
11. Intellectual property
The Audi Outcasts name, logo and branding, and the text, design and code of this website, belong to the club or to whoever produced them for it, and may not be copied or used elsewhere without the club's permission. Photographs remain the property of whoever supplied them; supplying one to the club gives the club permission to use it as described in clause 7, and nothing more.
"Audi" and Audi's model names and badges are trademarks of AUDI AG. Audi Outcasts is an independent enthusiasts' club and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to AUDI AG or any Audi dealership.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Audi Outcasts, its committee, its administrators and its volunteers are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of this website, from it being unavailable, from a third-party service failing, or from another member misusing information they were shown on a member-only page.
Nothing in these terms excludes any liability or limits any right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including your rights under the Consumer Protection Act and POPIA.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute about them. If a dispute does arise, please raise it with the club first — most things are sorted out with a conversation.
